Role Model

My role model is my Dad because he is really hardworking and working 6 days/week. My dad is really kind and overprotective. My Dad is the one who always tells me that I will need to work for whatever I wanted and I also love my Dad and he loves me too. My Dad is a really great athlete. He likes to play cricket,softball and also volleyball.

 

In school my role model will be Megan because she is really good at cultural dancing,art and also she is academic as well. Megan is a really good friend because she is always there when I am hurt and also when I need her help. The reason why I want to be like her because she is really good at dancing and also her art is always creative with her work.

In the community my role model would be Valerie Adams because I’ve always wanted to be a shotput athlete. Shot Put is the activity for me to try my best at athletics to be in the 2nd or the 1st place to play for the shot put. The reason why I always wanted to be like Valerie Adams because I’ve always wanted to popular. Valerie adams is half Tongan and Samoan. I am proud to be support my own country and also her country as well.

In my conclusion I am so happy to have these people as my role models. The reason why I chose these people because they deserve to be famous and also having good manners and also behaviours are changing. I love these people because I will need to achieve one of my goals of being a role model the people I’ve wrote down they mean so much to me as well.         

All Blacks Vs Australia

I wish you good luck All Blacks. Never give up and work as a team. The predict score I reckon will be 32-20. I reckon is because you All Black's work well as a team. Go the All Blacks wish you guys the best.

Improving my Recount writing

Descriptive Writing - Season

The picture I would like to describe is a rural scene in Autumn somewhere in Europe. I know it’s Autumn by the leaves falling off the trees and being red and yellow and no longer green. The house and barn has a steeply pitched roofs so the snow that comes in winter will slide off. The longhouse is probably made of stone which will come from a quarry near by. The animals will live in the barn with the steep roof over winter as there is no feed in the fields as the grass will be covered with mud and snow. The wooden fence is post and rails which means that there are horses on the farm.

Dear Ms Parkes

Thank you for your help with my writing. I am trying my best to improve my writing. I am following the suggestions you have given us.  

I enjoyed writing a information report, attributes and recounts. I need help with my writing and I’m still struggling with these different types of writing. The reason  I like writing these three different types of writing is because it helps me write and imagine at the same time. My teacher had learnt what you have been teaching her in writing and she has been doing the same by teaching us what you’ve had taught her.

I  use apostrophe and speech marks correctly sometimes. Sometimes I  need to help to put them in the correct places.

Next term I will  practise writing a variety of sentences. Also editing is difficult and finding my mistakes . Persuasive writing is also my weakness.

I really appreciate your help Ms Parkes. Thank you so much.

The Genie was the best Genie of all times. One day he came to into our class. One of the student came up to him with a bad manners. Then I walked up to the Genie wishing that I want to show respect by talking nicely at all times and use my manners also focus on my work and do not show my bad behaviour in class ever again. Being a good student in class is amazing because once you are a great student you will receive good luck.

Serena

From the lamp a genie appeared and wished me honesty. Being honest about giving money to other people is just silly. I cannot buy friends. I realised I carried a lot of wait and I am going to do something about it. I am a good girl and respect the teacher whenever she’s stressing. I’m also worried about my mother's health. I also do cooking and cleaning and get really tried. This work makes me lack honesty. I will need to improve being honest at school and at home because sometimes I can be dishonest about everything at school and at home.

Megan  

Genie wanted the students in room 11 to behave and to be a loving person. The genie is confident whenever he does his job to solve people’s problems and he uses his brains to think about everything in his working place. When a genie appeared the meanest boys in class. The genie gives a student bad luck because the students was being very rude to him.

Maori Myth - (Narrative)

WALT: create a Maori Myth (Narrative.)

“Look!” said Andrew we found him.”Who said Mum”.“We found Wirepu”. Wirepu has brown wavy hair,he gets really red when he is angry,eyes as hazel like a kiwi fruit. You could get really terrified of Wirepu because he is really mental at all times. Wirepu was found in school. The grass will be green as kiwi fruit. Also smell the barbeque from a long way from the other side of school. I could see white and black medium bird flying in the sky.

Wirepu and his family have lived in a house for a long time since 1997 until 1999. Wirepu and his family went for a walk and he could see a big clear rain drop fall on the greyish sharp concrete. When Wirepu and his family arrived back from walking, their house was burnt down because of the Lava from inside the volcano. Wirepu was crying out loud “HELP”. People were walking past and thinking if he is disabled or something.

While Andrew was asking for help for them to buy a house there was this old man that Andrew asked he said he would lead them some money because they had left their money inside their house inside mums room. The old man rang and was talking to the Housing New Zealand had accepted Wirepus family. When the old man had told Andrew the good news Andrew was really amazed and he thanked the old man for getting them a house in the higher grounds

Then Wirepu and his family lived happily ever after they had moved into their new house the old man bought for them. Wirepu’s family were really happy and also jumping for enjoyment. Next time we should just live in the higher grounds. I hope next time I would love to get a bigger house for my family and I.

Milo Balls

Walt: write a procedure for making Milo Balls

      Ingredients:

• 1 packet of Arrowroot biscuits
• 4 tbsp of Milo
• 1 can of Caramel topping
• 1 cup of Coconut

Methods:

1. Crush the Arrowroot biscuits.
2. Add the 4 tbsp of Milo.
3. Mix the ingredients altogether.
4. Add the caramel topping  to the mixture.
5. Mould them into balls.
6. Place them on the tray.
7. Put the Milo balls inside the fridge for half an hour.
8. Enjoy it.

Mrs Fat Brown Beaver and the Birds

Mrs Fat Brown Beaver had just settled down to eat her small round nut. Mrs Fat Brown Beaver was clutching her nut between her front paws when suddenly she was surrounded by sharp beaked birds.

These birds were trying to grab her round nut but she held on to her nut more tightly. Inside herself she was very cross at the birds for trying to grab her nut. The lazy birds all four of them pecked at Mrs Beaver’s nut. There were small black and white birds who were plump with sharp pecky beaks.

Mrs Beaver kept eating her nut until it was all eaten and there was nothing for the birds to eat. So with much screech and hopping and looking they realised that there was no food for them. So they flew away.

Mrs Beaver cleaned her whiskers and settled down for a nap with no birds insight.    

My best holidays

WALT: write a recount with focus on “expensive” words.

“In my best holidays.” My brother took all of us to Maraetai beach for a picnic and for a swim to celebrate my little niece’s birthday. My Mum and Dad and Sisters all came with us to help her enjoy her fifth birthday.

First, we spread mats on the grass by the beach and put our picnic lunch on them. We had pies and a tongan fruit salad called otai we also had a pink and white birthday cake with five candles which my niece Emily blew out.

Next we also sang happy birthday to the little girl. After lunch we all went for a swim in the sea which was cool and fun to be in. We also played a game of volleyball and then had another swim.

Thereafter, we dressed and went off to Valentines for an evening meal. My Dad offered  to come here for my birthday and I screamed really loudly.

The Next Day, when we arrived at home from school I was extremely happy for my birthday party at Valentines.  

Advice to Black Caps

Good luck Black Caps. Here is some advice don't be intimidated by the Australians. Hope the Black Caps the best.
