Mrs Fat Brown Beaver and the Birds

Mrs Fat Brown Beaver had just settled down to eat her small round nut. Mrs Fat Brown Beaver was clutching her nut between her front paws when suddenly she was surrounded by sharp beaked birds.

These birds were trying to grab her round nut but she held on to her nut more tightly. Inside herself she was very cross at the birds for trying to grab her nut. The lazy birds all four of them pecked at Mrs Beaver’s nut. There were small black and white birds who were plump with sharp pecky beaks.

Mrs Beaver kept eating her nut until it was all eaten and there was nothing for the birds to eat. So with much screech and hopping and looking they realised that there was no food for them. So they flew away.

Mrs Beaver cleaned her whiskers and settled down for a nap with no birds insight.    

Area and Perimeter

What I was learning?

I remember perimeter is lengths of the sides of an object. I remember area is like measuring square units. I have difficulties to solve these kind of problems.This would help me with knowledge and how I solved it.  

Anzac Day

WALT: commemorating Anzac Day.

Yesterday afternoon we planted crosses into the ground. We planted them to remember the people who died in wars.

Trenches - Working in a group

WALT: write a explanation

This is a model of the trenches from World War 1. I worked with Jeleina and Megan. We made our models with playdough.Here are the things that we made with the playdough.We made a gun,sandbags,fence and also the grass. My contribution was painting the sandbags and half of the grass. My group and I found it really easy because Jeleina and Megan were helping me making the sandbags and the guns and all the other stuff. Next I want to make a tree.   

Fractions

In this game I am learning my fractions. I found this game really easy because it is like halving the number total and also using Multiplication. To solve this problem is to use multiplication tables. My next learning steps are algebra and geometry.

My best holidays

WALT: write a recount with focus on “expensive” words.

“In my best holidays.” My brother took all of us to Maraetai beach for a picnic and for a swim to celebrate my little niece’s birthday. My Mum and Dad and Sisters all came with us to help her enjoy her fifth birthday.

First, we spread mats on the grass by the beach and put our picnic lunch on them. We had pies and a tongan fruit salad called otai we also had a pink and white birthday cake with five candles which my niece Emily blew out.

Next we also sang happy birthday to the little girl. After lunch we all went for a swim in the sea which was cool and fun to be in. We also played a game of volleyball and then had another swim.

Thereafter, we dressed and went off to Valentines for an evening meal. My Dad offered  to come here for my birthday and I screamed really loudly.

The Next Day, when we arrived at home from school I was extremely happy for my birthday party at Valentines.
