Descriptive Writing - Season

The picture I would like to describe is a rural scene in Autumn somewhere in Europe. I know it’s Autumn by the leaves falling off the trees and being red and yellow and no longer green. The house and barn has a steeply pitched roofs so the snow that comes in winter will slide off. The longhouse is probably made of stone which will come from a quarry near by. The animals will live in the barn with the steep roof over winter as there is no feed in the fields as the grass will be covered with mud and snow. The wooden fence is post and rails which means that there are horses on the farm.

I love this image Serina. There is a town in Australia called Glen \innes and Autumn in Glen Innes has some of the most wonderful sights you could imagine. From golden yellow to deep reds. The scent in Glen Innes in Autumn has to be experienced to be believed. It sounds silly, though if you can imagine the scent of a rusty nail times 100, then that is what the scent is like. With all the beautiful poplar trees changing their colours and the May Flies preparing to mate on the wing, the feeling is quite magical.
Thank you for sharing this beautiful image - both visual and descriptive.
